Black Power Book Covers in situ

March 1, 2016

Back in December the Ace Hotel in New York invited Interference Archive to fill a display case in their lobby. We decided we wanted to use the opportunity to place material into this weird boutique hotel context that otherwise might never be seen there, in particular we wanted inject support for Black Lives Matter in the form of historical objects related to militant forms of racial justice. We ended up deciding on a portion of the books I had collected for my Justseeds blog post on Black Power book covers (Judging Books by Their Covers week 98).

The announcement for the display is here, and Ace put up a nice blog post about it as well, which you can read here. It’s nice to start to see my book cover posts starting to find life outside the internet!
