This print was commissioned for the touring theatrical production Les Miserable, a truly epic reinterpretation of Victor Hugo's classic story that marshalled 53 people, two school-buses, a 15-foot proscenium arch and much more in the service of musical theater. The text (suggested by director Donna Sellinger) comes from a pivotal scene/song in which the student rebels show their resolve.
The background colors are hand-streaked rainbow rolls, and as part of that process there is significant color variation from print to print!
