This print is inspired by a dream I was having about dancing with demons. Ultimately, womankind is clutching death around its neck. Inspired by the story of Faust, and by Kathe Kollwitz series of grieving women in wartime. My friend Ari saw this print and was instantly reminded of a poem written by German poet Paul Celan called "Death Fugue". Upon reading the poem, I realized it is an amazing written parallel to the visual sentiment of the piece.
