Social Justice Bloc Party in Olympia

April 18, 2016

Our colleagues in Art Forces are hosting their second annual Social Justice Bloc Party this coming weekend, April 22-23 in Olympia, Washington, and showing some work from our Migration Now and Imaging Apartheid portfolios. Check out their work, their organizing and their awesome murals! If you’re in Olympia, it sounds like an great event. Here’s what they have to say:

Join us at the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural for the 2nd Annual Social Justice Bloc Party April 22nd 6-10pm & 23rd 12-8pm, at Capitol Way & State Ave, Olympia, WA.

The Social Justice Bloc Party brings together visual art, music, food, workshops and community to celebrate the culture of resistance that strengthens our movements for collective liberation. This event brings organizations ‘off the wall’ and into direct relationship with each other and the greater community to support building relationships across movements, issues, cultures and great distances. Meet fellow activists, organizers and artists working in local social justice organizations as featured organizations table Friday & Saturday.

This year, the Social Justice Bloc Party will feature new visual art by Line Marker, a Oaxacan-Mexican artist and cooperative member of ASARO (Assembly of Revolutionary Artists of Oaxaca); select prints from the Migration Now! Portfolio (a project of Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative & Culture/Strike); and select prints from the Imaging Apartheid Portfolio (a project of Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative).
