Welcome back to Sounds of the Week, the (supposedly) weekly sound musings by members of Justseeds. This week Earth, and Sly and the Family Stone and more.


Sound notes from Pete
I’ve been busy these days so it’s been awhile since I’ve done a sound of the week post. Currently I’m pretty deep into a new music project of my own, and am working on tackling the unknown frontier of using my vocal chords in some manner of singing; never sure what’s going to come out. As far as what music I’ve been listening too, it’s really been too much of me listening to band practice recordings, which is way too ridiculous to post here, so here are some vocalists I’ve been listening to trying to figure out how this “singing” thing works:

also been digging Pink Mountaintops, especially this catchy number:

but what I recommend most, for you my dear reader, is to listen to this Earth album, which like much of my favorite music has no vocals at all,
