* “Art & Revolt” Talk/Discussion Description:
Sublevarte Collectivo, a group of graphics creators, emerged during the student movement of 1999-2000 at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (National Autonomous University of Mexico). Its work is the result of solidarity and accompaniment with various resistance struggles. The collective will present some of these uprisings, and the graphics used to join and su
pport them, such as the Zapatista movement, which represents the ideological base of the collective, the struggle to defend the land in San Salvador Atenco, and the resistance of the people of Oaxaca, among others.
Sublevarte has maintained a horizontal way of working, and has built close ties with many collectives in Mexico to collaborate with them. Also, it has participated in many of the expressions of resistance throughout Mexico.
Sublevarte Colectivo es un grupo de productores gráficos surgido en el contexto del movimiento estudiantil de 1999-2000 en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Su trabajo es el resultado de la solidaridad y el acompañamiento de varias luchas de resistencia. El colectivo presentará algunas de ellas y la gráfica con la que se les ha unido y apoyado; como el movimiento Zapatista, que representa base ideológica del colectivo; la lucha por la defensa de la tierra en San Salvador Atenco, y la resistencia del pueblo Oaxaqueño.
Sublevarte ha mantenido una forma horizontal de trabajo y ha construido vínculos colaborativos estrechos con muchos colectivos de México. También, ha participando en buena parte de las expresiones de resistencia que se dan a través de México.

Interference Archive and Sublevarte Colectivo invite you to the film screening of “La Píldoras del Doctor Barnés” (“Dr. Barnes’s Pills”), a documentary film on the student strike of 1999-2000 at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). The screening will be followed by a discussion lead by Sublevarte Colectivo, a group of graphic activists that formed during the student strike. Collective members will talk about their experiences and participation in the strike.
