Melanie Cervantes earned a BA in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley and is a visual and graphic artist. She co-founded Dignidad Rebelde in 2007, a graphic arts collaborative that produces artwork grounded in Third World and indigenous movements, illustrating stories of struggle, resistance and triumph into artwork that can be put back into the hands of the communities who inspire it. She has exhibited extensively nationally and internationally.
