Justseeds member Mary Tremonte (c’est moi) will be sharing space with her co-editor Jenna Lee Forde for their editorial project Theory Boner at the Hamilton Feminist Zine fair this Saturday November 7. We are very happy to launch our fresh new issue Theory Boner (2) Manifesta, risograph printed and bound by us right here in Toronto, featuring contributions from over a dozen international artists, writers and thinkers, mainly from Canada and the United States. This issue has been exactly six months in the making from our call for submissions back in early April, and we are so happy to finally release this feminist zine baby into the world! Stay tuned to find this new publication here on Justseeds.
We will also have some animal hankies, queer scout merit badges, queer spirit totes and some explicitly feminist prints and 2016 organizers from Justseeds.
We will be joined by so many feminist zine makers and enthusiasts from the Hamilton/Toronto area and beyond – come on by and stock up on your feminist reading and art for Fall in “the Pittsburgh of Canada” (seriously!)!
The Hamilton Feminist Zine Fair, organized by SACHA, celebrates and creates spaces for marginalized groups to have discussions about feminism through do-it-yourself publishing.
We’re aiming to create an accessible event that gives a platform to those often under-represented in zine culture.
HFZF will have people tabling, selling and chatting about their zines, workshops, a calm chill out space and a six hour zine challenge.
