End Prison Slavery

August, 2018. “Ending prison slavery isn’t just release from a cage. It’s our chance to self-determine livable conditions, real healthcare, actual education. Ending prison slavery isn’t just for prisoners, it is liberation for all, inside and out.” To learn more about the nationwide prison strike that has been organized in response to a riot in Lee Correctional Institution, a maximum security prison in South Carolina. Seven lost their lives when prison officials turned their backs on a riot they provoked. You can read the 10 demands of the strike and how you can help http://www.prisonstrike.com/

Two portraits of men of color is featured centrally in this poster. One is a black man with a small beard, and the other is a Latino man with a large mustache. Behind them a rainbow roll background, or gradient, of pinks to oranges. In the foreground, a small man stands in front of a row of roses and holds a flag with a triangular banner that states: “STRIKE.” Text above in white states: “END PRISON SLAVERY! NATIONWIDE PRISON STRIKE, AUG 21 – SEPT 9, 2018.”
