“Formes des luttes has been active in Paris and across France over the last years mobilizing a graphic and visual language for social movements and international solidarity movements. I have gotten to know Sébastien Marchal over the years and took some time to connect in Paris.
There is an impression that dominant media narratives attempt to push which claims that there is a meaningful archive to all events, all the time, but missing from this corporate dominated framework of 24 hour news cycles is the visual culture of social movements.
Formes des luttes is both an archive but also an active force that lifts up the voice of urgent issues in France and beyond. The network of designers, artists and activists have focused on battles against attacks on public institutions by the neoliberal government of Emmanuel Macron and a strong visual voice of the Palestine solidarity movement.
I am happy to share this note and to help facilitate more knowledge about their important work through the network around the Justseeds artists’ cooperative.”
