“I will not be silenced.”

Leah Namugerwa (b. 2005, @NamugerwaLeah) is an Ugandan climate activist that organizes school-based Fridays for Future Uganda and speaks out about climate injustice. She’s currently leading a petition to force the Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, to turn an announced plastic bag ban into reality.

A soft watercolor of a young person in a window in pink, blue, and green. She has short black hair and she looks toward a butterfly nearby. Green leaves peep out of the window. Text in bold dark blue above states: “I WILL NOT BE SILENCED.”

“We stand in solidarity with our Palestinian siblings in Gaza and those among our community who are directly and indirectly affected by the current war and genocide by the Israeli settler-colonial regime. Passive observation of the horrors of bombings, genocide, and prolonged apartheid is not our way. We must rise and firmly proclaim that Palestinian Liberation is a Feminist Imperative.” – Feminists for Jina Seattle
