The original “Mississippi Five” women include Lisa Crevitt, Anita Krecic, Loretta Pierre, Evelyn Smith, and Linda Ross who were sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Though they have shown a commitment to personal growth, taken courses, endured the loss of loved ones outside, they continue to be denied parole. Jacqueline Barnes was added to the campaign after being denied parole a second time on Christmas eve in 2024. These six women are now between their 60s and 80s in age. Collectively they have been incarcerated over 200 years and denied parole 50 times. Here are free downloadable zines created by Study and Struggle to challenge the parole board that have the power to enable their parole. Let’s Free the Five and Free Them All!
