Exhibit a Justseeds Portfolio!

We produce portfolios of prints by Justseeds artists and allies that address social and environmental issues. Sometimes we work with organizations or activist groups to promote their efforts, sometimes we give artists free rein to express their passions. Each portfolio is an educational tool, a gesture of solidarity, and a thing of beauty.

With a contribution to Justseeds and funds for shipping and packaging you can host a Justseeds portfolio for exhibition! We offer exhibition copies of all of our portfolios for loan to schools, galleries, libraries, community spaces, and other institutions and organizations that want to temporarily exhibit our projects. We have portfolios on different struggles for peace, justice, and liberation. We encourage our hosts to consider exhibiting more than one portfolio at a time to help connect issues across movements.

How does it work?

In most cases, we have two Exhibition copies of each of our portfolios. They are available on a first- come/first-served basis.

If we have what you’re looking for during your requested dates, we’ll send you a blank Loan Form Agreement to look over, to be sure we’re all on the same page. If our terms are agreeable to you, we’ll customize the form for your organization and the requested dates of loan. Sign the form, scan it, and mail it back to us! We’ll discuss appropriate shipping times with you to be certain you have enough time to mount the exhibit, and plenty of time to pack it up and send it back to us. Check out a sample loan form here.

How much does it cost?

We ask for a $200 donation (per portfolio) from mid-to-large educational institutions, galleries, and museums.

We ask for a sliding-scale donation of $50 – $100 from independent/non-proft galleries and other small community spaces, and from social justice organizations displaying our work for a campaign, event, etc.

We also ask that all loanees pay for both receipt and return shipping of all items. Cost estimates vary per destination, and will be provided on request. We ship USPS Priority, insured, unless the loanee has another preference or account they wish to use.

We have been working with all levels of galleries, community spaces, and museums for well over a decade, and it’s important to us not to exclude organizations that are running on a shoestring budget. What is expected of me/my organization?
In short, we simply expect that the work(s) we supply to you on loan will be well taken care of during the time that you have them, and that they be returned to us in the condition in which you received them. The Loan Agreement Form outlines, in more detail, our specifc loan terms. We’re attuned to the contingency and vagaries of shipping our work around the world, because accidents happen. But we also take our loans seriously, because we put untold amounts of love and labor into our projects, and we want them to be in good shape for as many people to see as possible for years to come!

As you mount the exhibition, we really appreciate receiving any promotional information and materials about your exhibit – help us spread the word about your event! We post information on the Events page on our site, as well as on our various social media outlets. If you’re printing posters and postcards about the exhibit, please mail us a couple for our archive!

What comes with the loan?
The prints in our portfolios are shipped unframed, in the original packaging that we created for each portfolio. You are welcome to frame the prints, but it isn’t required if you feel that the work will be safe when shown unframed in your venue. Our prints can be hung on a wall with either binder clips or magnets. We’re happy to discuss your specific exhibition situation if you’re not sure what to do.

Each print is labeled on the reverse for identification. We don’t supply additional printed wall labels, but we’re happy to provide you with a label template that you may edit and print.

Host a Justseeds Artist!

There’s 41 of us, and we’re all over the continent! Each of us has years of professional experience in a variety of creative fields, and many of us have direct pedagogical experience that makes for great presentations, workshops, residencies, and more.

Please Note: Contracts and pay scales are up to our artists on an individual basis, and arrangements made with our artists will ultimately be the result of your direct agreement with them.
