How do we amplify the work of those who inspire us and remind us what the work can look like? Whose work do we amplify, and how are we holding them and ourselves accountable? This graphic is inspired by the Imagine Just Community Program, which was imagined by Enrich Chicago and Nina Sanchez to collectively lead a diverse coalition of artists, cultural producers, and creatives. This is a container for living out our transformative, liberatory values and shifting power and agency to the people who’ve been historically excluded from making decisions about the solutions, interventions, and resources people and communities of color need within the arts and culture space. This work includes a Community-Advised Fund for BIPOC Arts Organizations and a Just Praxis Circle for grantees. These graphics are inspired by the intimate conversations, mutual relationships, and collective power we explored through the 2024 Just Praxis Circles led by the amazing Soujourner Zenobia Wright. The graphics attempt to encapsulate the radical dreaming and rest that was conjured as part of the Just Imagine Fellowship. I encourage you to read them, study them, and imagine how these graphics and the prompts ask us to reflect on and live in your own practice and the communities you are learning and loving with.
