Ancestral Memory

Ancestral Memory. A 3-color riso graphic was developed to honor the labor, love, and joy our ancestors gathered through generations so that we could be present in the spaces we find ourselves in. This graphic was inspired by the Imagine Just Community Program, which was imagined by @enrichchicago and @laninadel18 to collectively lead a diverse coalition of artists, cultural producers, and creatives. This is a container for living out our transformative, liberatory values and shifting power and agency to the people who’ve been historically excluded from making decisions about the solutions, interventions, and resources people and communities of color need within the arts and culture space. This work includes a Community-Advised Fund for BIPOC Arts Organizations, and a Just Praxis Circle for grantees.This graphic is inspired by the 2023 Just Praxis Circles led by the amazing @sojournerzenobia as part of Just Imagine Fellowship
