Her quote above demonstrates that to the end of her life she was motivated to make the world a better place for oppressed people in Mexico and around the world. This print is dedicated to her life as a revolutionary that marched in the streets and organized to make life better for her fellow citizens, the Indigenous, the laborers and for women. I also believe that as a detribalized woman, Frida tried to reconnect with her Indigenous roots. She has been accused of appropriating Indigenous aesthetics for style, she might not have been perfect but I think she was trying to reconnect just as many of us today are doing. Trying to reconnect with her ancestral culture.
