This hand-pulled screenprint was part of Justseeds' 2023 Community Supported Art subscription. The series is limited to an edition of 100, and we had a few extra after fulfilling all subscriptions.
The theme for the Justseeds’ 2023 CSA series was “Grounding: intertwined with the more-than-human world! / Con los pies en la tierra: entrelazadxs con el mundo natural.” For the last five years I’ve had the opportunity to participate in PODER’s urban farm at Huerto Golibrí, on Yelamu, unceded Ramaytush Ohlone land (San Francisco). We honor the land every solstice and equinox with ceremony, building flower altars for the sunrise. The flowers here are native wildflowers of the San Bruno Mountain area just to the south of the farm, arranged as a flower calendar clockwise from early spring: Fremont's camas, Footsteps of Spring, Franciscan Wallflower, Yarrow, California poppy, and California Phacelia.
