Die Freiheit fällt nicht vom Himmel (Freedom doesn’t fall from the Sky) is an amazing collection of newspapers, magazines, flyers, drawings, posters and other ephemera from the Spanish Civil War. About 300 full color images illustrate the book, the vast majority are of material that is rarely seen or reproduced. There is also significant context given for each object, discussing the anarchist, socialist and communist publications and groups active in Spain in the 1930s. Unfortunately the text is entirely in German, but the pictures are what makes this such a treasure. A must have for any Spanish Civil War collector, or anyone interested in the intersection of European avant-garde design and radical politics. This is a real gem of a book.

Note: the covers of our remaining editions of this book have some slight wear and abrasion.

Seattle’s International Working Women’s Day for Palestine and Beyond

March 12, 2024

“We stand in solidarity with our Palestinian siblings in Gaza and those among our community who are directly and indirectly affected by the current war and genocide by the Israeli settler-colonial regime. Passive observation of the horrors of bombings, genocide, and prolonged apartheid is not our way. We must rise and firmly proclaim that Palestinian Liberation is a Feminist Imperative.” – Feminists for Jina Seattle
