New patterns can make a sound. "Sound" was a collaboration by Saiyare Refaei and Yoshi Nakagawa for Tacoma Wayzgoose Print Festival in the spring of 2025. In August of 2025, they printed a series of just 20 prints this collaborative linocut block of various sounds of the Puget Sound region at Pratt Fine Arts print studio in Seattle. These prints are from this special edition. This patchwork hexagonal pattern mimics quilting patterns and also includes elements of the artists Chinese, Iranian and Japanese heritages.
