The Durruti Column was a military unit of anarchist workers that fought in the Spanish Civil War. Led by Buenaventura Durruti, the column not only fought back the fascists, but helped along the social revolution in Spain by assisting in the establishment of agricultural collectives and the directly democratic Council of Aragon.
