This is a 2 color relief print, the black layer carved from a linoleum block,  the light blue layer from a slab of plywood.

"The Gift" in my mind is referring to the dying back and regrowth of wildflowers, grasses, invasives and other abundances that fill the land and mark the passage of time. This cyclical time plays out before me every day I look out the windows at the little plot of land I've become attached to. It's overwhelming, comforting, exhausting, a pain in the ass, and reassuring.

It also, for me, references images of protestors holding flowers up in the face of authority, symbolizing the long view. Nature that perseveres an egocentric idea of control.
