There is Power in a Union. The West Virginia teachers strike over low pay and rising health care costs began on February 22, 2018 and involved over 20,000 teachers and staff. The strike shut down schools in all fifty-five West Virginia counties. The strike lasted until March 7, 2018 with teachers accepting a 5% pay raise. The strike also inspired public school teachers in Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona, and other states to take similar actions. Solidarity forever.
