Everyone should have a say in how they do what they do, and why. In pursuit of simple ways of explaining class-war concepts, this is one of the simplest. Shouldn't the people who do the work be able to chime in about it? This is the essence of what a union is all about- working people in control of their own lives and able to articulate their own needs and desires in an equal forum. Democracy is much maligned at scale, and maybe rightly so; but when it comes to how people make decisions about what they want and how to fight for it, it can't be beaten.
This print is all hand-drawn and handmade, no computers involved. I've been leaning into showing my hand in the screenprints I make recently, and I love drawing and cutting curves with compass and eye. The text layers are printed using two colors of ink on the screen at the same time, so I can get a five color print from 3 layers.
