Deep South by Suroeste is seeking original artwork by Black and Latinx artists for a juried group art exhibition at Stella Jones Gallery, in New Orleans, LA – From May 1st to June 12th.
“COMPLEXION REFLECTIONS” the 4th installment of Deep South by Suroeste, explores the changing complexion of Black and Latinx solidarity in Louisiana and beyond. The exhibition will highlight the creative work and advocacy of individuals, organizations, and communities that are building Black and Latinx power through common struggle and unity – with the goal of inspiring others to do the same. New Orleans based applicants will be afforded an opportunity to create a sanctuary space to further the collaborative aims of Deep South by Suroeste. This site-specific group installation will serve as a focal point for Black and Latinx reflection, inspiration, and healing.
Applicant Guidelines:
- ART Submissions must include an artist photo, short bio, high-resolution photo(s) of your artwork, and a description – including the title, size, medium, and the year the artwork was created. Artwork created before 2018 should not be submitted for consideration.
- SHORT FILM Submissions must include your short bio, a synopsis of your film, and a web link to preview the film. Films created before 2018 should not be submitted for consideration.
