Stop Re-Segregating Our Universities

From March 2011.

Another solidarity piece for folks in Georgia. This piece addressed the House Bill HB 59.

The bill, introduced in the Georgia legislature, would require all public universities and colleges to check the citizenship status of all applicants.

Another policy that reminds me of being a teenager in California when Pete Wilson was pushing Prop 187. We must Fight – Education is a human right!

A close-up of a drawing of a crowd of young people marching. Two women are in the foreground, rendered in dark reds, browns, and light yellow colors. One raises her arm and holds up a fist. The other woman wears a head covering and holds their banner, which states, “Stop re-segregating our universities. www.altogeorgia.org” In the background another placard states: “No to HB 59, Education is a human right!”
