I see this idea of refuge as being both out in the elements but also protected, like a boat below a roof. I see it as arriving to a safer place. I see it as the possibility of escape from the brutality and chaos of the global greed-driven wars and displacements. Refuge, taken along with the risk of paddling to another shore. This print is part of a justseeds collaboration made during our migration-focused installation also titled Refuge, in Slovenia, fall of 2011.
