Dignity for the Earth

This year I read several of N.K. Jemison’s books, and Adrienne Maree Brown’s Emergent Strategy. Both are excellent writers, and I highly recommend their works. I wanted to create an image that might express some of what I felt reading these books. They inspired me to re-prioritize collaboration and organizing with other humans. Working towards a more just and liberated world to me means focusing on care of the earth — the people, the plants and animals around us. It means treating the earth and all its inhabitants with honor and dignity. Nature works in collaboration — all the animals, bugs, plants, soil, water, air all work together to create a community in the soil. So too must we collaborate with one another, to respect and care for our fellow humans, the earth, and all its inhabitants.
