August is tomato season. We have cherry tomatoes and a few varieties of large red tomatoes as well. I love to eat fresh sliced tomatoes with salt and olive oil. This is also great on slices of seedy bread. Once we are swimming in tomatoes and I can't eat them as fast as they are growing, I make large batches of tomato sauce which I then freeze in several small containers in our freezer. This tomato sauce recipe is very basic and is easy to experiment with. I use any and all tomatoes, handfuls of fresh garden herbs, and some of the garlic we harvested in July. This sauce can be used for pizza, pasta, dipping in bread, and could be eaten as soup- it is simply that good.
This is a five color linoleum block print with spray paint stencils. It's printed on a very thin mulberry paper.
This is the third print in a recipe series.
