This is a print I created to go on an abandoned road sign in Albuquerque NM as part of the Friends of the Orphan Signs project I’ve been part of the past couple years. The original sign is 6 feet by 8 feet, and is cut from paper. This is a screenprint version of that image. The image is of the Mexican Gray Wolf, or Lobo, a highly endangered (approx 50 in the wild) animal that also is the logo for the University of New Mexico. As the University pours endless dollars into the branding of their sports teams with the Lobo as a logo, the few remaining Lobos in the wild are under attack from humans wanting to open up hunting again. Seems like the university could easily help save this animal, but saving animals doesn’t generate revenue like sports teams do.

signed edition of 50
