Getting at the coal is as easy as candy! Just pop off the top of the mountain and it comes right out! At least that's what the coal companies say. They forget to mention that the mountain top gets dumped into the neighboring valley, polluting rivers, destroying soil, and increasingly making much of Appalachia close to unlivable for any form of life, whether human, animal, or plant.
