As part of my Graphic Liberation! exhibitions and projects, I’ve been doing a number of workshops encouraging students and gallery visitors to use pieces and parts of historical political posters to generate new imagery that addresses issues that are important to them today. These new posters are collaged together and then mass reproduced on a risograph. I’ve been using the same process to generate new posters as well, often as examples for the these workshops.
This is one of those posters, where I have cropped parts of a housing poster from Quebec and another from South Africa, overprinted them and added the simple text “No Evictions.” These are fun and easy to make, and I’m putting up small numbers of copied here for cheap, in case anyone is interested.
