A celebration of the Nueva Canción (New Song) movement, a group of radical musicians in the 1960s and 70s in South America. This poster shows three of it’s most popular adherants: Atahualpa Yupanqui, Violeta Parra and Victor Jara. Many might be familiar with Jara, the musician so dangerous that Chilean dictator Pinochet had to have him executed.
Printed at the worker-owned Stumptown Printers, Portland, OR.
This is a postcard of poster #31 in the Celebrate People’s History Series.
