"Preserve" is a one color linoleum block print with hand painting. Each image is unique and will have slight variations in the painting. The image is of a person with a large straw hat picking blueberries. There is a rainbow of color between the person and the blueberries being picked. The straw hat has stripes of color as well. I created this print for a print portfolio, and also created a small set of 6 with slightly different color variation for sale here on Justseeds.
Preserve has a couple meanings for me, first to evoke the process of preserving fruit; we preserve our own fruit each year as jam. As a self portrait, I also wanted to demonstrate connectivity to land as part of self and collective preservation.
