In 2011, I was going through my great grandpa 's trunks full of old photos and journals that he kept. In his journals I learned that he loved keeping track of the weather and had a couple of weather gauges that are still here around the house. His journals became particularly interesting when he seemed to make connections between the incoming pressure zones and the political climate at the time - from influenza to a possible war with Mexico. It inspired me to make this print.

A pressure gauge is a useful tool to see a step ahead to act and interact with the climate, both political and environmental.
