For over 20 years I've been fascinated with the cartoon anarchist character of the figure with black hat, cape, and bomb. I've always wondered where it came from, and why so many different kinds of anarchists embrace and use it, some ironically, others in seeming seriousness. So I've launched a personal campaign to collect and track all these little anarcho-graphics, hopefully leading up to some sort of zine or publication. But in the meantime, here's my first little graphic exploration, a collection of 19 of these guys (and yup, they are almost always guys...). It's likely hundreds of different artists have drawn these characters, some of the artists included here are Roberto Ambrosoli, Fuchs, Simon Gane, Par, and Donald Rooums.
