All children love to learn, until we impose on them educational structures that are not life-affirming. We reward rote memorization and test-taking skills rather than encouraging young people to passionately engage with the subjects they’re most interested in. We constantly tell them what to do and how to do it, but in reality we would do better to step back and learn from them. Let’s unlearn our jaded adult beliefs. Even just for one moment, let us forget all the facts and survival skills we’ve crammed in our heads and just stand in wonder and awe at this unbelievably incredible place we live, on this roundish rock spinning through space, in our universe.
