IcantBreathe_Writing

Eric Garner’s last words from two years ago today, written on a wall in Brooklyn sometime before March 2015.

Just heard the following track on the radio yesterday, I Can’t Breathe Feat. Samuel L. Jackson, Krs One, Sticky Fingaz, Mad Lion, Talib Kweli & Brother J.

I appreciate these artists responding to contemporary social conditions in song. If you know of other new tracks addressing police violence, the social movement responses and resistance, I’m looking for them. I want to put together a mixtape for the if a song could be freedom series I was coordinating for Interference Archive. You can email me at list[@]justseeds[dot]org
