At the DNC, abortion was rightly and openly discussed, which was a huge win. But I was disappointed to see that we are still framing abortion as something that only women do. People of ALL genders have abortions, and in this day and age, it's crucial that we use inclusive language. Abortion is deeply connected to gender equity and gender liberation, which encompasses the right to choose the gender that aligns with one's experience and exercise bodily autonomy. This includes making decisions about our bodies, whether it's about abortion or gender-affirming care.
We must recognize the connections between abortion, birth justice, bodily autonomy, and trans rights, all of which are fundamental to gender equity and freedom. Furthermore, it's critical that everyone has access to healthcare systems that respect and support bodily autonomy, including safe and legal abortions, gender-affirming care, and gender-inclusive spaces.
As someone who has had three abortions, including a self-managed one at home, I am deeply committed to ensuring abortion access for all genders. This print represents my unwavering commitment to fighting for reproductive rights and gender liberation for EVERY BODY!
