This poster is a reworking of a graphic originally published as an inside cover of the Cuban magazine Tricontinental. It originally appeared in issue #8 from 1968, and although no designer/illustrator was credited, it was likely the work of Tricontinental's main designer, Alfredo Rostgaard.
The graphic is so perfect, and rarely circulated, so I decided to give it a slight 21st century update, simply adding a kafiyyah to the boxed figure.
This is a four-color process risograph print, and carries with it all the lovable quirks and imperfections of the riso process:
