This is a small woodcut portrait of a charismatic creature from the Edwards Aquifer; the body of freshwater that flows through the porous limestone landscape under Austin, Texas. I made this image while trying to plan a mural with this animal as its focus, part of a project I coordinate to create murals about endangered species around the country.

The print is made with sepia ink, and hand-painted with a coffee-wash- there's some variation between prints on account of the hand-painting.
