Epicopeia Polydora


I love mimics. This is Epicopeia Polydora, a day-flying moth that mimics Papilio butterflies, hiding in plain sight.

I’m learning how to better use the Vandercook letterpress that I’ve acquired, and this is the second print I’ve made on it- an experiment with multiple blocks. The process was complicated, and educational, and I’m looking forward to future experiments- it should be noted that these prints vary in their ink density and control.
