Migrant Rights are Human Rights!
This poster was commissioned by the National Network for Immigrant & Refugee Rights (NNIRR), based in Oakland, CA, in 2003.
NNIRR initiated a campaign to provide support, resources, and information to groups who were interested in celebrating International Migrants Day, which takes place every year on December 18th. In a period when national crises have stirred public anxieties about immigration and when unfair policies and discrimination against immigrants have intensified, this piece calls for respect and justice. December 18th provides an opportunity to highlight important issues affecting immigrant communities. It is also a reminder of the right guaranteed to all migrants by the International Migrant Convention, and the need for all nations to approve the convention and adopt its standards.
