I imagined a poster that could hang well in a classroom or child’s room, and those great libraries of books holding hidden stories and histories, the kind with the power to inspire us with new knowledge, to liberate desires we scarcely knew we had, that lead to imagining action and agency, and give a base to our individual and collective transformations…
Learning Liberation was originally designed for the Justseeds "Liberating Learning" portfolio, a project honoring the work of the caring teachers seeking to make a difference in the lives of their students every day. In this poster I experimented with simple lines and zipatone shading, like the comic books from which I learned to draw as a kid.
