This image is inspired by Palestinian writer Mohammad El-Kurd's statement during an interview in May of 2021, "the end of the occupation [of Palestine] should be the signal for the end of protests”. Watermelons have been a symbol of Palestinian resistance after accounts of civilians were arrested for carrying this fruit in the streets because the fruit has the same colors as the Palestinian flag. Like cats let’s take over the streets until Palestine is free!
