Benefit for the Parents of the Ayotzinapa 43

May 31, 2016

The abduction in 2014 of 43 students from the Ayotzinapa teacher training college in Guerrero, Mexico continues unsolved, as evidence mounts of government complicity and even coordination of the disappearances. The families of the students have refused to back down from their demands for the return of their children, and continue to push for further investigation and some form of justice to be brought. The recent repression of the investigations carried out by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights has only served to enrage and propel the families in their efforts focus attention on the nimbus of power and impunity that surrounds the case. Our colleague Patricia Vasquez is currently hosting an online fundraiser for the families, with whom she has been working for the last year, and there are some prints from Justseeds members Thea Gahr, Mazatl, Bec Young, and Roger Peet available as rewards for a pledge. Support this worthy effort- and keep those families in your thoughts.
