Korean Edition of Celebrate People’s History poster book

February 21, 2018

I just got a copy in the mail of the Korean edition of my Celebrate People’s History: The Poster Book of Resistance and Revolution! It has been in the works for a little while now, and I’ve been communicating with the publisher, Book Sea, but it’s a whole different thing to have it in hand. It’s so cool to see all the posters translated, and they even added additional footnotes for context they felt wouldn’t be familiar to a Korean audience.

I think people perceive the poster series as being U.S.-centric, but when you really break it down, it is quite diverse in subject matter across geography, as well as time and politics. Over 30 countries are represented, not including Indigenous peoples and ongoing colonial struggles. If any fans of the series are reading this out there, and have ideas about publishers in other countries that might be interested in publishing translations in Spanish, Arabic, French, German, Portuguese, and more, please get in touch!
