A new silkscreen edition in a new colorway of my print Reclaim the Commons! Originally created for the Justseeds CSA in 2018, this piece was also used as the frontispiece for Silvia Federici’s book Re-Enchanting the World.
This print was inspired by Federici's work on commons and the enclosure, as well as a passage in Barabara Ehrenreich's book Dancing In the Streets: A History of Collective Joy in which she describes feudal-era maypoles being deployed as signposts for propaganda purposes.
This is a four-color screenprint based on an original paper-cut by the artist.
