I created this design for Territorio y Libertad, a new portfolio project with Justseeds and Escuela de Cultura Popular Martires del 68 in Mexico City. The word territorio brought to mind the crows in my neighborhood in San Francisco, working as a collective to protect their territory from the incursions of a red-tailed hawk. Our collective relation to territory also brought to mind other phrases: the Mexican legal concept of propiedad social ("social property" as the counter to "private" property), land and the commons, assemblies and autonomy, and collective self-defense (autodefensa).
