Based on an image from Leonora Carrington's short story the Beloved, this image was featured in Down Below, or the Womb of Worlds, a feature-length shadow-opera co-created and performed with the musical group Spires That In The Sunset Rise, and hosted by Bedlam Theatre in St. Paul, MN. The performance was based on the life and work of British-born Mexican artist Leonora Carrington, one of the great surrealist painters and authors of the 20th Century. Shadow puppetry, projections, and narration combined with music coursing throughout the production in a dreamlike fashion.
