Carved in Summer of 2020, still in a covid shutdown, isolated, days revolving around the home front. The respite then, as it is now, was to be in the trees. Living in this rusted out city between the giant lake and the rivers pouring in there are many outlets for communing with nature, a trampled over nature recovering from endless resource extraction and abuse, but still for the heart of a city it is something to get lost in. These days we still find ourselves scheming about an escape to the big trees, a return to the western states. Grateful for what we have but dreaming of being surrounded by giants.
